Day Off

2008.11.30 - Sunday

I honestly didn't realize it was the end of the month. I mean, I knew there was this big huge deadline on the 28th, but for some reason that passed and I didn't really think about it. Needless to say, work has been extremely busy. It hasn't really been full of unusually long hours, it's just been the consistency. I'm actually not sure how many consecutive days I had worked up until this morning, but several weeks at least, if not the entire month of November.

The shows I've been working on haven't even been especially huge or complicated, there have just been four of them all with deadlines straddling the week ending November and beginning December. Everything is almost all done. I'm sure there will be a few notes, as there always are, but the crunch should be past. Among the work we've been doing are the final two episodes of "Stargate: Atlantis", which ends its run this year, to be replaced next season by a new Stargate series. There's also a pilot show for Fox, as well as a horror film which I haven't been working on, but which nonetheless has been keeping plenty of people under the gun.

Despite being totally exhausted, I still prefer having deadlines before Christmas. It's a much nicer feeling to have a solid couple of weeks to get organized for the holiday without worrying about shots and renders, and it really brings a sense of conclusion to the year.

I'll have some updates for the gallery over the next little while and of course will try to pay more attention to posting on a regular basis. I'd be happy to get back to once a week at this point. For now, it's just been nice to go through an entire day without stepping into the office.
